I haven't the Aero interface and i want to know if it's due to this rate.

Well... rate 2 lets me suggest that you don't have a video card fulfilling the requirements for Aero Glass, see

MY laptop rates a 2 and has integrated graphics..radeon express 200m...and it has AERO. I dont think performance rating has much to do with it.
It DIDNT have AERO when I used the driver from ATI's site......hmmm The driver now says Microsft WDDM next to it and is dated 24june2006. curious since it aint the 24th yet. Curious again is gaming graphics say 256mb yet I thought it was integrated graphics with just 128mb of shared memory....
I spent 2 days reading aobut whether this setup of mine could even run aero..Theres a lot of conflicting info. after trying to update to the "latest" vista drivers from ati's site..While reading the release notes for their vista drivers...it mentioned another vista build number..other than 5384, and it never worked for me. running winsat aurora didnt get it "automatically working" like some have mentioned. I re-installed vista and all of a sudden it was working, and its surprisingly "zippy" just as fast as xp pro when working with the windows, and tabs, even with aero.
This is my first laptop, replacing my overclocked AMD64 3200+ with an overclocked nvidia/BFG 6800gt that was destroyed in a house fire. It's supposed to be temorary till we get a new house...so since I never had a laptop, I went kinda low end never expecting a laptop could be powerfull enough for me....and even this low end laptop can run aero glass. While Im sure the graphics aretn quite as stunning as a carefully set-up desktop with gaming graphicsa...they are more than what i expected and it runs just as fast as the XP pro that came with my laptop.
Sorry for the long ramble..There just a lot of mis-information here regarding aero. wanted to share my story.

My PC has the amazingly low rate of 2 as well (better than the 1 it was before I installed my new nVidia 6200 512mb !) and I can run Aero.
I didn't find it under Themes, however, it was under the Visual Appearance section of personalization.
Good luck.

lol mine is at a 2 as well but I have a radeon 9600 and aero works. It wasn't working right when I applied vista overtop of xp but after doing a native install it works flawlessly

I have a rating of 2 with an Intel Intergrated video card and Aero will NOT show on the list to use. Bummer.....
My next laptop will NOT have a intergrated video card.

Your next laptop will probably have Vista preinstalled and show the Vista Premium logo.

You are correct Roy. And if it doesn't I won't buy it!
